I'm starting to see my generation and a little older that thought of "I wish for simplier times" now in regards to the 90s like their parents did and it's like... "Sure the music was rad but if you thought you were called the f-word slur now, HOOOO BOY you don't wanna go back in that time machine"
I've been seeing a lot of "nostalgia sites" being posted on FB being used to distract people.
And all it ties back into people going "Man, you know what was cool? When I was a teenager and didnt have bills and responsibilities and an almost crippling awareness of how shit the world can be"
The r-word was used by everyone on everyone as well
When I grew up from that stuff, it was the real first hand experience of "normalization" that hit me so fucking hard
