I luckily didn’t have that parent but I remember they started to trying to destroy education in the last 70s, early 80s. De-segregation was the trigger for the non-rich, how they managed to amass a larger group of people to assist their wicked goals.
That was after all, the driving motivation behind the "Pro-Life" movement. (They even said so themselves -- they had found the fight against desegregation to be a losing cause, so searched for another issue to build a "superficially non-religious" moral crusade around -- and they chose abortion.)
