I don’t have a big theory about it but at the time they started the nonsense it seemed a way to dismiss the young who should be angry…a fad in the media, probably not consciously done except for clicks but people clicked because they perhaps had feelings of uneasiness about you getting screwed.

Yeah, a lot of it is societal guilt. It's easier for older generations to blame Millennials for their misfortunes than look inward and realize how broken it all is. I do think people are waking up, but not fast enough to undo the trauma, economic hardship, and lost lives.

Yes, it’s not fast enough and the oligarchy is now even more entrenched. Maybe the forces to effect this were already in play but more concentrated efforts could have slowed it down perhaps—though we might have had to start earlier. It’s STILL not clear to quite a few people, which is astonishing.
