Kind of how I was thinking about it…I think we’re probably headed for a lot of authoritarianism and a lot of chaos but it will be harder to fully consolidate the way Orban did—partly because of the culture, history of political opposition, size, complexity, US not being ground down a prior time.
One hope is that Amurika, despite the false claim to be the UNITED States of America, is a somewhat loose collection of states. The blue states have a lot of power, and more of the money, and are already in talks to see how far they can effectively secede.
There’s a federal legal structure that determines the relationship between the states.
