Putin is the only person for whom Trump seems to have legitimate, consistent "feelings" for. It's quite transparent if we ignore what he says, and watch what he does. That brings up a number of questions we, including the Republicans, should all be asking.

He literally has no ability to just hand over Ukraine. And absent a Ukrainian delegation, these talks are meaningless. This has already happened at least once in Trump’s term:l. It’s so patently absurd that people seem to be blind to this very simple fact.
