They basically saying that Luke killing the Emperor would have solved things, and he wouldn’t need to turn to the dark side for that. I mean, killing random stormtroopers like what all the rebels did, this act didn’t make them a bad guy. But Palpatine? He had the Force, can do whatever he wanted.
