First bird of my day: a pair of jackdaws sitting together on the roof, just chilling in the sunshine. #FirstBirdOfMyDay #WhatsYours

I'm still waiting to see the first bird of my day. The strong winds and rain here in North Lancashire are keeping the birds hidden in the bushes. Even the woodpigeons have yet to make an appearance! #FirstBirdOfMyDay
Have you seen one yet?
Yes, but I can't remember what it was! 😄
😁
A Little Egret commuting to the colony behind my house.
A standing herring gull, nearly in strict profile, on a roof ridge adjacent to a brick chimney stack. Gazing longer, I was able to discern both the gull's legs before it took off. That was only after an early bolus hunter swift had soared over the roof! 👏😃
#FirstBirdOfMyDay: Blackbird heaving a huge worm out of the lightly dampened lawn & then having a real tussle with it!
Jackdaws here too discussing something #firstbirdofmyday
Great Tits on the feeders. Warm and dry here.
#FirstBirdOfMyDay: Ruby-throated hummingbird hovering in the space that a feeder should be hanging. No sleeping in on Saturday! 😁
GORGEOUS
#MyFirstBirdOfTheDay is a blackbird pecking up sultanas, then staring over at a pair of crows and a huge magpie on a rooftop. No! it's their gangly-legged young one, still with some of its white feathers
#FirstBirdOfMyDay was a wood pigeon preening and stretching in the warm breeze.
Ah! Eric’s cousin!!👍👍😂😂
A woodpigeon pecking around the grass below the feeders on a grey blanket, breezy morning. #FirstBirdOfMyDay
Last morning of holiday in IV63, a young woodpecker eating peanut butter off a large pine cone outside the front room window. 💕 #FirstBirdOfMyDay
First bird of my day: a Dunnock perched in the hedgerow outside my window on a blustery but warm day.
Magpies on the back lawn: parents and babies!
Cheeky magpie, marching around, patrolling the graveyard footpath like a little litter prevention officer... #firstbirdofmyday
A female Blackbird 🐦⬛ #firstbirdofmyday Eric was on the lawn 👍
A flash of blue as I open the curtain and a beautiful crimson rosella lands on the entwined branches of the grapevine and lamarque rose which sprawl along the fence. Pale blue sky and a crisp morning. Good to be home 🥰 #FirstBirdOfMyDay #WhatsYours
There's definitely no place like home, no avifauna quite as joymaking as in the local ecosystem where you have lived a while! 🐦
I have a foot in both countries having been born and schooled in the UK but living most of my life here. It’s always an interesting transition from one to the other but the birds here feel like old friends now.
