First bird of my day: an immature herring gull flying low overhead. I was reprimanded for looking at birds instead of at the road whilst driving. #FirstBirdOfMyDay
I've been guilty of that ... π
Me too
Chittering! π― so apt for the little insectivores. Two herring gulls at 5 minutes before dawn. A near quarter moon and only two planets & two stars visible, sky in the East with no clouds turning peachy-coloured. Two dark pairs of wings passed overhead, early inland commuters moving in low light.
#FirstBirdOfMyDay: from a hotel window: a Wood Pigeon flapping its way through a flat blue sky
A Woodpigeon perched on a roof. A sunny morning here with blue sky.
Snap! #FirstBirdOfMyDay four house martins flying overhead π
#FirstBirdOfMyDay: The European starling gang
The sartled angry yellow eyes of a sparrowhawk, followed by a puff of black feathers as he took flight with his catch. #FirstBirdOfMyDay
Goldfinches flitting around the buddleia. #FirstBirdOfMyDay
Three bluetits and a pair of collared doves first to the feeding station early morning gathering; followed by four great tits and a dunnock; then the sparrows in numbers, a starling and blackbird. All out and about after a cooler and more overcast day yesterday. #FirstBirdOfMyDay
Just a couple of rooftop crows hoarsely greeting the day #FirstBirdofMyDay
A flock of around 25 Goldfinches bursting from a field of weeds.
Why did I read that as "First drink of my day: a dozen house martinis..." π
Two magpies: Joy, thank goodness (we have 2 important cricket matches today), chuckling to each other in the eucalyptus tree. #FirstBirdOfMyDay
First bird of my day: a Blue Tit at the feeder and Jackdaws flying overhead on a warm, clear morning. #Firstbirdofmyday
Another eerily quiet day with just a couple of unidentified gulls flapping lazily away in the distance. A few wood pigeons softly cooing in the trees, though. #FirstBirdOfMyDay

First bird of my day: a pied currawong drinking at the birdbath as I filled the kettle. Dearly beloved standing next to me said that his fbotd was meπ #FirstBirdOfMyDay #WhatsYours
