That's probably true. Everyone has talked about it for so long. Now China is in quite a strong position. I also wonder about how smart it is picking a fight with everybody all at the same time.

Also, China's trade practices are fare more onerous than the US' even with the realignment that Trump is demanding. The EU won't provide for it's own defense and the US providing it is much more palatable than turning to China for it. But yes, there's no finesse in the way Trump is handling things.

We shall certainly see how smart it was. The EU needs to pick as side, and both side comes with negatives. In the end, Europe is far more culturally & politically aligned w/ the US than China, and China won't tolerate criticism from the EU like the US has for decades.
