Usually from the politicians too.
Usually from the politicians too.
Yes but every Democrat politician could assemble for a protest and it would maybe disrupt traffic in a single small to medium American city.
Or they could all actually organize a protest in their districts?
Those politicians could all be putting their time off from Congress towards organizing efforts in their own cities, as opposed to going on TV and chastizing people(who have to work for healthcare and food) for not being out in the streets.
They could, but at the end of the day those who have to work for a living will still need to be in the streets. Also we need to accept that no one is coming to save us. If we want to reverse this slide to fascism it's going to have to be up to us.
Also, what’s the point of donating money and time for elections if we are going to have the attitude that they aren’t there to save us? That’s their damn job and people promoting the no one is going to save us theory are why people have been refraining from getting involved.
The point of donating money is to pay consultants.
More people would participate in a protest led by the people we pay, rather than always having to lead ourselves. It’s the point that we get scolded for not taking the lead in situations where we have hired leaders.
These hired "leaders" were unable to convince half the country that fascism is bad. Not the folks I would be trusting to be effective right now.
Well, we've come full circle. These leaders are exactly who I said I am tired of telling me what I am doing wrong while they are refusing to do the job I hired them for. This is the point and in the meantime, people will complain when voters refuse to vote because they feel disenfranchised.
Well would you look at that, which group does this help? Fascists are great at sowing division, and here we are.
I would say continually hoping for an effective response from the democratic party helps the fascists. They seem immune to strongly worded letters.
But throwing your hands up and saying that the party will never help us just strips us of our power to hire people who will. We have to believe that we can hire leaders to help us. That’s why people vote and participate. Putting it all on us to fix it just means that politicians have no purpose.
I want to agree with you, but remember when Biden was forced to drop out after the primaries because the big money said he had too? However you felt about his candidacy doing that after the voting was beyond inappropriate. Bottom line we don't really get to pick them now do we?
Having different viewpoints doesn’t make us divided. We have to be different in order to learn from each other.
