Don’t expect much of any Congressional efforts to rein in Trump (or any future president) on acts of war. Here’s a 20-plus-year look at how Congress has failed to meet its constitutional obligation on setting war policy. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

Congress gets to wash their hands of it, gotta get reelected after all, that's the most important thing.

Those who want regime change in Iran are ticked-off by Trump's waffling, "Yes," one moment, "No," the next. Put Netanyahu back on him & he'll get the old man to come around.

A future president, hopefully a Democrat, will learn that he can drive a wedge through the opposition party by forcing a vote in Congress on something like this. Of course, that requires a level of creativity and preparation that no Democrat has demonstrated in my lifetime, anyway.

Republicans are the ultimate invertebrates. They cede power like no other and Trump knows it and uses it.

They won’t do much but you can fully expect to hear all Republican congressmen screaming about war powers and the constitution the moment a Democrat uses the military.
