Not a lot of imagination on the part of the town. It’s all well & good to tell folks to stay at campgrounds but there aren’t many & they’re mostly all booked out months in advance. Why not provide overnight parking for RVs somewhere nearby? The town could charge fees to cover costs & limit stays.

Years ago, we rented a camper van to explore northern California. Several of the places we visited had RV parking lots for overnight stays. They even provided access to showers for a fee. It was nice being able to stay in town so we could go out for dinner, etc. without driving anywhere afterwards.

Liverpool actually has such a facility. I’m not sure who owns and operates it but I suspect it generates a fair bit of traffic for local businesses. Maybe Lunenburg officials should consult with Liverpool folks.

I must say though that I have some sympathy for the town. There are a LOT more boondockers than there used to be and many are quite entitled & inconsiderate - running generators etc. Hubbie & I used to boondock often but there are many fewer places to go now because locals have become fed up. :-(

For a town who relies on tourism, to complain about getting TOO much tourism... Click bait article first off. Shame on CBC for engaging. Like you suggest. Don't complain. Accommodate.

Provide a place then have no overnight parking on streets. That would provide people with an area while keeping the roads clear for emergency vehicles. That's a good idea.
