Oh I'm not in the National Guard but I've talked to enough veterans to know that the sense of duty only gives you so much runway before they hate you for turning them into props. NGs are a lot closer to civilians to boot so they vividly understand the whole prop angle and live that.

I also kept up with a lot of different NG news following Texas Operation Lonestar where Texas governor Abbott used them as props to this day on a peaceful part of the border. The most action they saw was seeing immigrants get tangled in barbed wire and drown between being bored out of their minds.

It got so bad multiple National Guardsmen committed suicide and last I bothered to learn a year ago was that they were, just now, getting to the point of starting to push for mental health resources, with basically 0 help from Texas as a state as Republicans don't believe mental health is real.

Our National Guard didnt join to be put into this situation. And it hurts most Americans to see them doing this kind of stuff. They want to help not stand around being used by a dirty sicko President. My heart breaks for them.

My father was in the military, I've talked to and been around lots of vets, I've met NGs and it truly can't be understated that every single one deployed to DC KNOWS they're there as a prop, and some are cool with that, but a lot are pissed and bored.
