Honestly, Mark, how do you explain the consistency of what seems like capitulation ?
I’ve written for quite a while now about the cowardice of New York Times headlines. The story under the headline (which fewer people read) is often more skeptical and more truthful than the headline is. That’s true in this case.
Because the editors know that few people read beyond the headline, especially Trump. The reporters might not have capitulated (although that’s doubtful) but editors and leadership definitely have.
