🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Yeah? You think your circle jerk of links changes how people actually have been suffering? You think PR and great marketing helps people survive? Hey, thank you for proving you don’t care about people more than press. You’ve done that much. Nice job.

It sucks because Republicans kept throwing a baby fit about it and the plan got diluted.

They didn’t have the votes to pass anything better. It was literally the ACA or the status quo. You might remember this if you weren’t most likely a literal child when this was all happening.

A child when ACA passed in 2010? ☺️ Stop, I’ll blush. No, at that time I had three kids and had cofounded my first successful tech startup. That’s so sweet. I personally remember Obama and his congressional majority the first two years when they bailed out banks instead of giving us healthcare.

The majority that lasted 70 some working days because Republicans dragged their feet on seating Al Franken? And you really think Joe Lieberman would’ve voted for universal healthcare? Get real.

Yeah ok. Trying without complete majority was such a better idea. 🙄 So instead of actual healthcare all we got was an insurance mandate that made trillions for billionaires. Awesome.

When were they supposed to do it? The Johnson administration?

I think we covered that they should have done it when they had the majority and could have done it. Biden also had a year of majority. You might be fine with your party doing nothing when they have the power to anything, instead pandering to neocons. I’m not. We may have to just agree to disagree.

This isn’t a disagreement. You’re just wrong because you don’t know how many votes were needed to do what you want (the answer is 60 for the senate BTW) and how many votes they actually had. Since you’ve shown yourself to be someone who doesn’t know what they’re talking about, I’m muting you. Bye!

No, I think giving people health care helped millions suffer less. Maybe that doesn’t matter to you. It matters to them, and to me.

I've had insurance under the ACA since its inception. Before that I was uninsured BC it was too expensive due to a congenital heart condition.

Finally a good argument. The only real good that came of Affordable Care was the inability of insurance to discriminate on prior conditions. It was night and day. My mom had cancer at the time, and I’ve also experienced that benefit personally. Insurance charged everyone more to compensate.

Preventing that discrimination literally saved millions of lives by this point. It is actively insane how much you're underselling even that. It wasn't even the ONLY benefit, but like, if we're talking a win that's a pretty massive one.

It really made a difference. I wish it was part of a healthcare and insurance package rather than ONLY an employer insurance package. The richest and wasteful nation in the world CAN afford basic healthcare for its people. Anyone working for citizens would agree. Billionaires, not so much.

My mom has cancer and when she was diagnosed the ACA Medicaid expansion gave her life saving coverage. My brother was a drug addict who was also eligible for Medicaid thanks to expansion. The ACA didn't do enough but it absolutely saved lives and helped the most vulnerable.

Agreed 100%. This is also my experience with it. Glad we did get some improvements on insurance taking advantage of people. Still need actual healthcare addressed though. Not just insurance.

I agree that anything that gives people healthcare matters. I’m just not deluded or naive enough to equate health insurance to be healthcare. You should read more or maybe work on reading comprehension if you think those two things mean the same.

You’re taking to a Tankie, don’t waste your breath. It’s either working directly for Russia or it’s an accelerationist who actively wants as many people to die as possible, so that the Revolution can occur and we can all live in socialist utopia that will result from said revolution, once they kill
