I left Ohio for 25 years & came back (it’s temporary) to help aging parents. This used to be a solid blue, middle class state w/stability, hope & progress. Drive through any small town now & you see uneducated white poverty, unemployment, hopelessness. And they continue to vote for more of it.

I live in rural N Ohio. All I saw at farms were Trump flags hanging off of tractors and republican candidate yard signs. They are going to have to weather this with everyone else. Hopefully, they make it through. If not, it will have to be lesson learned.

Yes indeed. My extended family is in Ohio and we do not have the same mindset. I recently went to a family reunion & refused to engage in political discussions. People who voted for him felt empowered. I saw him for who he was the first time he appeared in his show.

I was 10 when my father went to Vietnam. My mother was pregnant with my younger brother. He was stillborn. I went to his funeral without my mother & younger siblings. Heartbroken & alone. During Trump's 1st administration, farmers required bailouts due to Trump tariffs. Trump said he would increase tariffs when campaigning. They did know the consequences of their vote. They chose to ignore them because of misogyny, racism & homophobia.
