People with less to lose are often much braver. Harvard has "a lot more to lose," at least for people who worry a lot about "reputation" and scores and the like. For courage, look at who is a leader when they aren't sure it will work out in the end but they do it anyway.

Do these university leaders understand nothing about solidarity, not see how postsecondary education is being weakened, how research is being weakened? I feel that as leaders each institution focus only on its own needs, they make it more likely that the entire postsecondary system will fail.

I hope all those donor alumni take their dollars elsewhere. Harvard should be embarrassed.
