Except there is no guarantee that a future Republican will tear it back down in 4 to 12 years. Democrats need to focus on building structural change and firewalls first to ensure this kind of destruction can't be done ever again. That is going to require most of the next Democratic POTUS time.

YES I've been thinking this for a while - hoping that The Good Guys are feverishly working behind the scenes. Similar to a Project 2025 but instead of dismantling our democracy, rebuilding and making it stronger. Norms? Unwritten rules?? GET 'EM IN WRITING.

I don't have faith in recovery or anything else. I have trust in the desire and will of people to rebuild a functional nation that's not a cult or a dictatorship. I think most of us want better community than that, even the Trump voterfuckers. It's not faith to trust in that. It's hope.
