I'm seeing a lot of SUVs on the cancel list, which is fine with me. Part of the reason I avoided the auto industry as a kid in Detroit was because of seeing the long development trends and how they were producing ever larger cars. I wasn't going to be a part of those monstrosities you see today.

US auto makers like people to think they're following trends, but they're inducing them. Every time you buy an oversized trash can you're paying extra to make the roads less safe and generally less usable for everyone.

Sorry, but automakers build what people want. They want SUVs and pickup trucks, not four-door sedans. That's why the EV incentives existed -- to encourage people to buy them. It didn't work with the Chevy Volt because it was a sedan, but EV SUVs have taken off.

Unfortunately, our hubris is to think the world can't have normality without us and that they haven't already moved on. Also, you're assuming taco is the problem. He's just the front man. Example: BYD is flooding the Tesla void where I am. Cheaper and more bling. The Teslas are just disappearing.
