Much as I'd like to see these EU leaders prevail over Trump, I cannot see it happening. Trump will double down because he is convinced he is the smartest guy in the room. It will simply degenerate into Vance and Brian Glenn shouting at the various Europeans much as they did to Zelenskyy before.
Except that the WH schedule calls for the European leaders to be in a later meeting than the meeting between 47 and Zelensky.

P.S. A minor difference of opinion with David Rothkopf. I don't think "Trump reached out to Putin and held this love-fest gone awry in Alaska." I think Putin initiated the dialog that led to the meeting. He wanted to keep Trump in his orbit.
P.P.S. There's a remote but not insignificant chance Trump will want to trade a Nobel Peace Prize for help in Ukraine. He *is* that desperate and extortion is his go-to MO.
I can't see it. Firstly, whatever Putin said to Trump on Friday was significantly more worrying to Trump than a Nobel prize, however much he might desire the latter. Secondly, Trump cannot be trusted not to go back on a signed agreement. Lastly it would devalue the Prize.
As Putin instructed trump: No return of Crimea, and no NATO. Our fraudulent president has essentially surrendered Ukraine to Putin. Imagine Roosevelt saying “no return of Normandy to France”?….This shameful position is why the EU leaders are showing up at-storming the WH tomorrow w Zelensky.
He wants to win the Nobel so badly, they should convince him that if he gets Russia out of ALL of Ukraine, they'll nominate him (of course doesn't mean the committee has to give it to him 🤷♀️)
