I agree! But AI slop memes aren't organizing people toward active defiance. They're encouraging slacktivism by giving people a release for their fear and anger that doesn't harm the regime instead of letting thise feelings fuel direct, active resistance. Why protest when you can just repost?

Exactly, if anything it's giving permission for people to stay at home and repost memes thinking it's "helping" Hell, was at a protest yesterday and there were three issues that made up the majority of the protest signs: -ICE -Palestine -Epstein These are what are actually important and effective.

Good point. I suspect no single tactic or even group of tactics will meaningfully move the needle. It will take a lot of things, likely by millions of people, to move things toward something better.

That's certainly true. Unfortunately for me, one of the needles Gavin Newsom's trying to move is the one making anti-trans policies acceptable in the Democratic party. I can't allow both parties to be opposed to my rights, so I HAVE to oppose Newsom before he gets too much national momentum.
