Well, Google told me this Islam has a concept similar to "turning the other cheek" found in Christianity, which emphasizes forgiveness, patience, and responding to negativity with positivity, especially in personal matters.

I am not surprised to see magnanimity highlighted in an Abrahamic religion, at any rate.

But to me it's kind of like "Take one for the furtherance of the overall team."

Google went on to say this doesn't go when it comes to defending others who are maligned. But this was a personal insult.
