I hate that term “the best form of cancer” I heard it a lot as well. Cancer is still Cancer and it’s scary. This is the most “treatable” form but the anxiety will still be there. If you are on Reddit I highly recommend r/thyroidcancer, it has a lot of helpful resources and good support system.

Almost 6 months out. Cancer is gone after they took out my thyroid and I went through treatments. 🙌🏻 Now on daily Synthroid and I feel SO much better. Just feel more normal and have far more stamina #thyroidcancer
My labs indicated my vitamin D was low. Who’s isn’t? So I’m taking more of that along with K2 and more magnesium which also helps the D I’ve been told. (for those of you who may know about that stuff). They all work in conjunction with each other. Hope everyone is getting good results❤️
*Finally got the confirmation yesterday that my cancer is GONE. NED What a sweet group of friends you all are here and I’ll never forget it. Thank you for supporting and loving me through it all 😘
My final scan reports look great to ME from what *they are required to send by law as soon as they are read* And I’ve found that I get lab results most always before my doctors do. So I’m waiting to hear my cancer doctor say it. But I’m very hopeful rn 😁#cansky
Although it mentions physiologic tracer activity in a few places… i don’t think that’s concerning for some reason. Like it’s some residual situation of sorts happening. Damnit, I need clarity. I texted the lab reports to my doc knowing he has them by now but I need to know asap
It’s the weekend and I can’t speak to my cancer Dr directly so I’m not sure what has me feeling so shitty— the first few days of being on Synthroid or the radiation treatment I finished up Wednesday evening. Flu-ish and nauseated. I believe it’s some of both. I see my cancer doctor tomorrow though
I’ve had the pills. Have been waiting for them to do their thing and then I will have scans soon.
My radiation begins tomorrow Here’s my thinking on it all. I have the easiest to recover from type of cancer. One of the ones with the best recovery rates. And I’m getting the easiest major treatment they do for it. #cansky
I don’t have much control over the physical at this point but I can control the mental and the emotional. I’m stepping out in faith tomorrow morning. And I’m still joyful #cansky

Still hanging in there waiting for the ablation on April Fool’s Day. I’ve been 39 days now without a thyroid and won’t start Synthroid, the thyroid hormone that’s taken the rest of your life after removal, until April 3rd. I’m feeling fatigued and wondering if this gap is the reason 🤨
I’ve felt so great with boundless energy until recently but the past few days find me reaching for more B12 and caffeine. Could be worse. #thyroidcancer #cansky
Thyroid hormones last quite a while in your body, but I’m sure that after 39 days you are feeling the effects of low hormone levels. Fatigue and feeling cold are some of the symptoms.

I feel amazing actually, thanks. Glad that phase is over and now I’m onto dreading the radiation therapy I start next week. How painful will it be? How sick will it make me? Will I lose even more of my hair? Sigh…

Got my radiation schedule beginning April 1. I go three times a week apart for radiation pills. And then I quarantine at home and stay away from everyone for three days each time.
Ablation. They mentioned that, too. I’ve only spoken to the hospital scheduler and my oncologist appt scheduler so if this appears to be sketchy that’s why. I’m understand I’m getting radiation from the inside and the outside. Seems extreme for two tiny little spots haha jk 🙃 #cansky
There’s also X-rays emitting beams of ionizing radiation involved for the upcoming treatment and I still feel so uneducated about it all. Slightly bothered that I do. Can anyone relate?

My Doctor visit wasn’t so great yesterday. There is still a bit of cancer left behind on both sides of my neck after they took out my thyroid. Although it’s tiny it’s still cancer and we don’t want it to grow so I begin prepping for radiation treatment soon Hope everyone is doing well today ❤️

My results will be at my post-op appointment later this afternoon. Did they get out all the cancer? Will I need radiation? My journey just began in December 2024. I don’t see how others keep it together between scans and reports. 🫡
Still some cancer on both sides in very very small amounts. Will begin preparing for radiation treatment by going for blood withdrawals so they can read my post surgery levels. When it gets to a certain amount, then I do the radiation

Yes. It seemed a bit odd I didn’t have to cover it but they assured me it’s fine and showering is fine too. It’s tightly sealed- some dermabond type thing someone said and the stitches will disintegrate. How’s your day been so far?

So much waiting. But also so much opportunity to engage in the things you love. It only took me a year in the cancer fog to realize.
Such a fluid construct. And I’m looking to surround myself with my chosen family or tribe before I lose any more of it. I can wait on scans and results. And the fog may be inescapable, I fear. But I won’t delay the search for kindness and warmth and ‘attagirls’ that we may all need to heal.
Day four out of the hospital. Could have easily stayed until today. Thursday I see my Dr to review the pathology findings of my cancerous thyroid removal surgery to determine the path forward. #fuckcancer #cansky
