Yeah this kind of my take. If Trump didn't exist, Bolton would be in the upper echelons of hated Republicans for his turbo-imperialist outlook on foreign policy.

I'm glad he can be an exit ramp for Republicans who do not like what Trump is doing, but that doesn't make him anything close to an actual ally. I want to see the neocons and the Trump train fight each other to exhaustion.
