Australia spent a decade under a hard right regime, where these policies were used on asylum seekers and refugees. When we finally over-threw that corrupt regime and voted in Labor, thinking they had Labor values, we were wrong again The issue here is the duopoly - Labor and the LNP acting as one

They're similar, but there are some differences. Many of the ICE detainees have been arrested illegally. These people being sent to Nauru have had asylum claims processed & declined. They've had their visa cancelled on character grounds, but that doesn't mean they are all convicted criminals AFAIK.
