Something deeply disturbing in our society when people actively work against the police to capture someone who has murdered two policemen and doesn't recognise society We're showing deep signs that as a society we are beginning to fragment and decay from within These are questions for all of us

Paramilitary police fired rubber bullets at peace campaigners protesting outside an arms fair in Melbourne not so long ago. My great great great aunt carrying a baby was shot at by police in the Glenrowan Siege. Nothing ever changes. Life is hard; then ya die.

The police have perpetuated an ‘us & them’ view of society, gone are the days of ‘community policing,’ this is a foreseeable consequence of rising authoritarianism. Not saying it’s right but nearly no one believes the police are on their side and it’s only getting worse. Jackboots are not the answer

The police are caught often, having to separate differing views and its easy to depict them as hostile I think we should frame the question as, what would society look like without police We could start by asking those people experiencing home invasions because their experiences give us an answer

We only have look to America where the police are viewed as just another gang. Private security firms & community vigilantes have taken over. We’re basically reverting to tribalism to protect ourselves. Private security is the best investment today.

He’s Australian You made that Nazi - the least thing you could do is to deal with him in a manner that wasn’t just sending him somewhere else so you can keep your pristine country unsullied with fuckheads

The duopoly needs to take a bow. Sky news, greed before those struggling, jailing climate & nature protesters, intentionally dumbing down the public and devaluing expert / professional knowledge, secrecy, corruption and blatant lies on everything from genocide to the climate collapse all attribute🤬

And we all wonder why our society is increasingly dysfunctional and decaying from within Rot starts from the top - a duopoly that has no message, no values, no expertise, nothing to offer except self-serving ideology We also have pugilists in Parliament offering to smash in the face of journalists

Thatcher actually said "There is, as you know, ... no society ...". The "as you know" is predeterminative, suggesting you know this to be a fact so there's no point in disputing it.

Individuals can’t build a Great Pyramid or a steam engine or a fighter jet, or abolish slavery or laws It takes the wealth, the organisation and the expertise of a society to do so Thatcher was wrong on many things

There's some easy ways our police could be trusted more by us. I am sure you can think of a few.

Freeman left home lightly clothed & carrying numerous firearms. He needs shelter (from Mnt Buffalo's winter conditions), water & food to survive. I've no doubt there are people in the area who will accommodate him.

For sure he has a network - literally in caves for refuge - & in 'compatriot folk' with whom without doubt he will have had a prearranged process in the event of such developments. How long it is sustainable for is hard to say. It's a certainty he will want to hold out. 😒
