Farmers are busy right now. They’re not going out to vote in a special election. They have nothing better to do in November. Polls showed Harris with a strong chance to take the state. How’d that turn out? They’ll act like they’re considering the (D) but will vote for the (R).

If Ds flip that seat it’ll be more about Ding Dong Donnie’s tariffs and USAID cuts than it will be about who’s on the ballot.

there was really only one poll; it was wrong. Ds have done well on turnout in specials vs. rs, but these kinds of numbers can't be explained by that.

I know too many Iowans to have any confidence that we’re seeing some sea change there. I’ll remain pessimistic and hope to be pleasantly surprised

argument's kind of silly; we'll find out eventually. but I think predicting the future is difficult, so I don't really understand your certainty.

Iowa Rs are really dug in right now. They’re the people around the perimeter of the room who don’t say much, take it all in, think about it, and then vote Republican. You can give them all the reasons it will hurt them and it’s not enough because the alternative is voting D.

Too much pride to admit they’re being destroyed by their own votes.
