"Her Grandma Katie pieced the quilt in 1961. Katie passed away when Carol was 2 years old. She had a piece of fabric that was intended for the backing. We decided the best way to quilt it would be by hand, so I took it home and got to work." — Mary Mary D (F) spent 130+ hours on this quilt.

Looks wonderful and a tremendous remembrance. 130 hours is about right for that size. I know, because I have a quilt journal that I use for documenting my quilts! I also have a bow tie quilt in lavender that my grandmother made me. She tied it, but I quilted it to better stabilize it.
