Well, my maga nephew thinks his wife is safe because he is in the military (coast guard). She did get a green card, but I think that doesn't mean much these days.

Green cards are being arbitrarily cancelled.
Yeah, fafo
ALL MAGATS,Think it won't happen to them , when it does they can't quite fathom it with thier little racists brains
Sure it wasn't her?
They don't live on base. I tried to warn him, and he wouldn't believe me and said he is only deporting criminals.
I know it's harsh, and sometimes people have hope a family member can be turned around, but at some point the family member has to be told fascists are not welcome in your home.
It's a nice thought and one I've entertained a lot, but in reality, not everyone has the privilege of a support network or life in an area where they can cut off family, friends, coworkers, or other members of their community over political or other value differences (including MAGAts).
Really, you can't find anyone , damn I would move and start over , it's not that hard I've started over 4 times , you can do it !!
I was in the US Navy. I moved plenty. After I was divorced for being possessed by demons (thanks, Florida), I was homeless for eleven years. My current wife and I live here because we can afford it.
You sound privileged.
I don't know how many people I've read here saying "you should just move out of your red state," as if there's a multitude of money, jobs, and housing available for everyone. Or the other one: Red staters deserve what they get (no matter how many didn't vote for this crap).
I have no support network of family. They all cut me off when I was outed as an atheist. (So much for so-called "progressive Christians.") If a person won't cut off a person for "values" (fascism), what do they get cut off for? When it affects them personally? Fascism is explicitly genocidal.
🙏🏾❤️
That's very sad and I'm sorry that you experienced that. I don't think it's productive to cut friends and family off as a political strategy. Self preservation: yes. It's hard to isolate from MAGAts in real life unless you live in a blue bubble or have sufficient privilege to do so.
None of the Christians in my family are Republicans. The country is full of atheists thrown away by their families (including by progressives) because they are not Christian.
It's not because their families are "Christian" per se as much as 'Christian Fascist" which is completely different. They don't believe in Jesus as much as in their religion as a weapon of hate and exclusion.
My sister is a deacon in the Metropolitan Community Church. As far as I'm aware, they are the most "progressive" of Christian churches. She disowned me long ago.
As an atheist, it's not my job to determine who's a Christian and who's not. If they say they are, I believe them. Christian acting like fascists have existed as long as there have been Christians. There has never been a concerted movement to oust them; as far as I can see they are fine with them.
My son and I can't be around maga family. We have completely cut them off because we can not emotionally handle what they stand for. I hope my husband understands because this includes his parents. It is a really hard time. I have been completely broken lately.
I don't care who's a so-called 'Christian' or not, just keep the goddamned creatures away from me. I don't believe in fairy tales or supernatural beings to avoid thinking about death. Control is the aim of ALL religions and to be avoided as much as possible. Fascism is but one name.
No need to dehumanize people.
It’s not political differences, but morality, civility and humanity differences.
No doubt.
You should send him this post!
I will but want it to be verified first.
