I am doing this and shocked at the number of forms and schedules I need to complete. It's not easy to figure out if you not used to completing tax forms on your own.

The past few years I have used Turbo Tax, then HR Block. I looked up my saved return from last year, then printed it out in the format “for filing” and it came out on the appropriate forms. I used it as a guide for the current one. Double check your math.

IMO, it wasn’t as bad until trump changed the forms during his first admin. All he did was add more forms.
