I grow a vegetable garden in my landlord's yard every year. In a SHTF world, would that sustain me (let alone our household) with the caloric intake needed to survive? Hell no.

Veg like lettuce or broccoli is actually hardest to grow. Our staple crops are grains, tubers and legumes and these are super easy to grow. Fruits are often easy too. 8 hours of work per month if you are plant-based. Only 750m2 needed. What is the alternative? Destroy all life on Earth?
