Normalcy is no longer possible. They broke the Constitution. We're in new territory here. It's a power struggle, and they're showing us what they're willing to do. If we don't fight to win, we might as well not fight. These people are SERIOUS. Are you listening? They want people dead, deported...

The ideal is to recreate society very close to what it was, not to play with ideas of a worker's paradise and communist imagery/slogans.

My hope is that we'll emphasize the responsibilities of citizenship more than the privileges, because government doesn't work unless we actively participate. And have an actual education.

I think we will need to push for more limits on the power of the presidency. If we can get constitutional amendments passed to abolish the person, limit gerrymandering, bar both private and foreign prisons as destinations for those arrested here, as well as a bunch of regular legal changes...

See, this is why I believe in us! We have so many socially responsible citizens who are interested in improving the system and are creative. It's just that none of us have enough wealth to get into the government or even be heard. If the money loses its power, then the people can make this work.

I absolutely agree. We forgot how dangerous sovereigns are. And the only way for Congress to stay effective is to get the money out of the elections. It's time to slide in the direction of some socialism. Washington warned us about all this, right at the beginning.

I wasn't a fan of abolishing ICE before, but given what has been done with it it probably will need to be entirely disbanded with its role handed off to another agency. And so on...

ICE has to go -- it's already turned into secret police and you can't reverse that culture. Perhaps Border Patrol can be revamped. And as long as we're at it - no privatization of any law enforcement or military. If we arm them, they'd better work for us. We can do immigration without those goons

Of course! I wasn't advocating for that. I hope we can return to a functional democracy. But this is seismic change, like the Civil War. Existential threats like this leave permanent changes that are not predictable.
