Except a cup of tea can never be a silly requirement. Food is an optional extra, tea isn't.

And if they were not so damn reliant on gas for heating, cooking and hot water, they would not need that silly requirement.

And most likely heating water in excess of what was actually needed for the cup of tea, which then sits and cools!!!

In The Netherlands it is very trendy to install a water tap that also provides boiling water.
