Pete, at 70 it definitely feels as if we are back fighting the same fights we fought in the 60's & 70's. Square 1. And at 70 I still am up for the battle as most of my generation. We have learned harsh & valuable lessons. That education to fight we are more than willing to share, as well as do.
Some battles *must* be fought over and over, Jessica. Folks forget. Never learned. Never cared. The pendulum swings and swings again. As long as I have the strength, I will make my stand, speak up, and demand the promise of this Democracy is safe-guarded and protected.

It is all humans right to speak freely once logic has been deduced to logical conclusions. My generation stood witness to how vile & corrupt a government can become & how to fight it. Those I stood witness too are burned in every inch of myself.
Agreed re: all humans right to speak freely, Jessica. As a woman of a certain age, I know some history, too. The threat is real, tangible. One must be watchful. Considered. When compelled - make good trouble, as best one can.
