"Bluesky is an echo chamber" arguments all boil down to one thing: asking us to be nicer to people who have shitty, harmful politics that make the world a worse place for everyone. Everything else is just window dressing, that's the ask these kinds of arguments are making.
They have mistaken "not putting up with people's bullshit" for an echo chamber.

It's kinda disingenuous to suggest that people who share a general ideology can't disagree on specifics.
For instance, I believe in public housing. The apartments should be nice and include conveniences like a dishwasher. But the buildings should be gray and lifeless, made to invoke despair. Because I also believe in balance.

The whole “echo chamber” narrative is yet another instance where liberal principles are used against us by people who do not follow those principles themselves. It is specious bullshit. Sadly, it also works. We spend far too much of our time and energy tying ourselves into knots with this stuff.
The proper response to this is “fuck off”, block, and go use that energy to make a positive impact. There is no judge keeping score of who racks up the most house points and awarding rule of the country to the purest. Endlessly debating fascists accomplishes nothing.
