And because there is a group of far right, white, Christian nationalists males who believe that every Amendment to the Constitution is illegal and want them removed or overturned. And this SCOTUS, absent the liberals, is complicit with this ideology.
No. Those guys LOVE the 2nd Amendment (murder weapons) & the 10th (States Rights) But yes, this is a GOP Coup in control of all 3 branches of our govt. Every elected Republican is complicit, if only in their silence.
No, they don’t love the 10th. They want a sovereign king, not a federal government. Meaning, corporate oligarchy in charge of and owning everything. And they’ll just keep the guns anyway. They ain’t following any rules anymore. They’ll probably toss the Constitution if they consolidate their power.
I’m not talking about Republicans that we see. I’m talking about the ones behind them who are calling the shots and controlling them. Peter Thiel. Leonard Leo. Heritage Foundation. Koch Brothers. Founders Fund. These individuals and groups are coalescing. It’s been bubbling for decades.
They still use States' Rights arguments in Court to deny civil & Const Rights to some classes of people when convenient (like women) & expand others, like guns. Yes. GOP controlled courts (incl SCOTUS) with House & Senate majorities are in fact, rewriting the Const to create a Unitary Executive.
