Yes! And that arctic region is warming faster than anybody else so it's extra screwed!

Right?? It's VERY noticable here! And we're on the southern tip of Finland. Rovaniemi, where Santa Claus lives, was tragically muddy this past winter!

In the late 90s some group in the US did a country-wide survey to see if Americans 'believed' in climate change. Country-wide it was like 2 in 5, but if you isolated Alaskans it was 4 in 5 BECAUSE WE WERE LIVING IT ALREADY. It's SO noticeable!

30 years ago it was noticable and the rest of the country still can't tell. Well. ~60% of the country. Finland is somewhat lucky that, as the Baltic rises, Finland is also "floating" as the pressure of the ice holding it down is lightened. I'm near the coast but won't flood. Weird mechanics.

The effect of ice on local coastlines is NUTTY and a thing that most people are just actively unaware of. Although if the lip of earth holding basically the entire eastern (I think it's the eastern) Antarctic ice shelf in place gives, people are gonna learn real fast.
