There is literally absolutely no shortage of adoptable pets on any day of the year at my local animal shelter.
That's exactly what I do. Peninsula and Portsmouth SPCAs get my donations.
That's fine, but I personally would never recommend that to people as a general policy because it can lead to funds being stagnant in wealthier regions and not getting to more economically disadvantaged areas where it is needed most.
