Dumbing down the quality of debate to the level of the fascists only ever helps the fascists. The gullible will vote for the fascist originals while the more rational voters either splinter away to other parties or get turned off politics altogether.
This underscores the whole idiocy of the Glasman Blue Labour philosophy. It also underscores the deeply patronising attitude Glasman has for the working class. According to him, the working class aren't capable of rational thinking and will jump for any nationalist dog whistle he throws at them.
