If she was establishment, she'd have stayed at the BBC but she needed to break free from its institutional constraints.

She wasn't fired, she left of her own accord to join Global in 2022. In 2020 she had taken the piss out of Cummings for the eye-sight driving thing during covid, for which she was suspended for 1 episode of Newsnight! After she left she criticised the BBC but she took their shilling for 20 years

Journalistic constraints appear to have increased at the BBC in recent times. Institutional bias is much more obvious now than before. That won't have been lost on some of their employees. Not on the public either, who have stopped paying the 'propaganda tax' in increasing numbers.

I stopped watching and listening to BBC news in the run-up to the referendum as it was so depressing listening to expert views being "balanced" by ill-informed liars. And as for their platforming of the Tufton St mafia...
