I played it for the first time just last week. No.

From a gameplay standpoint, the "constantly swarmed by zombies" gets old pretty fast when you just want to craft shit on the field or open boxes/vans but keep having to kill like 20-30 zombies just to get some peace.

From a, iunno, "narrative design" standpoint, there are too many points where swarms are intended to swarm you when you hit certain triggers (such as "interact with this door") despite there being nowhere for the swarm to spawn from and no one being in the vicinity. Literally get swarm from thin air

Also, the setup to the Tahir fight is complete BS (not even hard, it just doesn't make sense) and is quite symptomatic of a lot of ways other things are handled in the game.

Knowing you tend to focus on things like environmental storytelling, though, there's probably a lot of things you could get into for your videos (if you can manage to get "peaceful" enough footage in the wild to fit a video (you won't, there's always a constant stream of zombies gunning for you)).

Such fun games. If you plan on making a weird video about it, I would watch it 100x over. Maybe something relating to its plumbing/water system or another "where does blank go" kind of video

Yeah. The dense open world urban environment, the movement ability to explore it, and the emphasis on outmaneuvering the hordes are all pretty good. It felt new and different at the time of release. I remember thinking it was the first true "next gen" game I played of that generation.

First one has ridiculously dense environmental design it's very cool

The first 10 hours of this game where everything was breaking all the time and guns MATTER was so cool Thinking about rushing a drop and pulling out a gun with exactly 2 bullets and the NPC’s competing for it backing off entirely with hands up The mid/late game resource abundance was less fun

At its core, all the Techland stuff is interesting at worst. Even when the gameplay isn't nailed, it's still a world worth exploring and technology worth seeing.

I quite like it. 2 was a let down, but they polished up so it's fine I guess. Looking forward to The Beast.

i like both of em a lot. long games though, I doubt I'd have time for them at this point in my life but they were great in college

Can't speak for the second as I burnt myself out playing through all the gifts games content in preparation for its release and just haven't felt like picking it up BUT the first game is one of my favourite games. The Following DLC takes nearly everything great with the base game and doubles down.

I enjoyed the first one. The second one had fun gameplay but the story was whatever. Beast seems cool though

I quite enjoyed the first one, thought the story was alright but the combat and parkour really shines. The second one I liked the combat and parkour up to a point, but once you got a certain tool then the parkour kind of became irrelevant. The story felt worse than the first one.
