Portland smelled like the Weinhard’s brewery. That sort of hot wet cardboard wort smell. It was funky, but I miss it.

I grew up in Houston in the 70s and 80s, and that city is such a rich tapestry of odors. The industrial fart smell was no mystery, it was refineries.
