What’s a flavor you despise that everyone else treats like a sacred nectar?
What’s a flavor you despise that everyone else treats like a sacred nectar?
Gin. Horrible stuff even when drowning in tonic water or given some strawberry or kiwi, whatever, flavour by the 'craft' factories.
I agree! Even the smell makes me 🤢
Yes, I'm not sure what it tastes like, because my nostrils have already decided "not drinking that stuff."
Agreed, I've tried to like it. But alas, no thanks
Milk. I won’t even put it in my coffee or tea.
Even skimmed or semi-skimmed? I glug a litre every day in August.
Nope. I couldn’t even drink it when I was a kid. Weird, I know, because I know so many people who absolutely love milk.
I know many milk avoiders. It's not weird or even unusual. Me, I guzzle water at near zero (Celsius) to get through my day, but I do like to sink a milk bottle after work. Maybe I'm weird.
Nope, not weird at all! Many milk guzzlers out there -:)
It's August and it's Málaga. Normal consumption resumes soon.
Miso soup🍜I had too much of it. It is just so soggy.
Banana. I only like them when they’ve just turned yellow and are still firm. I hate that sweet, overly ripe taste.
I'm with ya on this. I hate soft or mushy bananas. I have about 12 overripe bananas in my freezer that are waiting for me to make a smoothie or banana bread, but that's never gonna happen.
I'm the exact opposite. The sweeter the better.
And I love salted caramel 😄
That is funny.
ive slowly come around on most fruits but im still traumatized by the thought of canned peaches so i avoid the real thing.
A lot of us aren't lovers of cooked fruit. But a perfectly ripe, raw fresh specimen, room temp or icy cold really makes the difference with watermelon, melons, etc.
Cucumber, in drinks. Cucumber water or in other beverages, just gross.
Sour candy. Absolutely can't stand it. 🤢
Nutella
Olives. I gave them another try after several years of avoiding them and had to spit them out immediately. I don't get the appeal.
Coconut- tastes like car tires.
Not flavors, per se. But champagne and Dr. Pepper are awful tasting!
Seafood. Smells like cat food and tastes like sadness.
You have OFFENDED ME!! King Crab legs, snow crab legs and lobster are slightly sweet and salty decadence definitely worth the work! Fried fish, seasoned salt in a cornmeal/flour mix with dashes of hot sauce on a Friday are the bomb!
If it helps, I would try the fish.
😁
Mint chocolate chip
I knew I followed you for a good reason.
Dill
I forgot the most obvious, wine.
Cilantro. Get it the hell off my Birria tacos.
oyster, tastes like almost drowning in the sea
Potato chips, french fries, hash browns, potato pancakes - any fried potato is gross.
So how do you cook potatoes?
Baked or boiled.
Let's agree to disagree. IMO, everything is a little better with a little "fat".
Oops. I think I was forced as a little kid to eat potato pancakes, and the taste of fried potatoes brings back those bad memories.
I get it. It took me decades to tolerate honey because my grandmother forced me to eat a tablespoon once when I was a kid. The weird things that traumatize in childhood.
Root beer 🤢
Coffee.
Coffee…any coffee…
Bean coffee
Melon, instant gag reflex 🥴
Banana :-PPP
Vanilla 🤮
Chipotle
Mustard.
Pumpkin spice. Unless it's in a pie, I can't stand it.
Salted caramel. Whoever thought that up should be shot.
I like it, but my workmate hates it, so I'm a minority. Fair enough.
😂😂😂
Blasphemy!!! Sweet and salty always wins!
Doritos
pumpkin! anything pumpkin really, including pie. 🤮😝
Yeah, pumpkin pie is awful 🤢
You’re not using enough whipped cream
😂
I suppose if it was 100% whip cream and 0% pumpkin pie that would work.
70:30 whipped cream:pumpkin the minimum
I would eat it!
😁
This reads like The Fall of the Roman Empire, except it's across the Atlantic and the lead pipes are replaced by pumpkins.
thank you!!
Yes!!
Pumpkin BEER!
Sea urchin. Why would I eat something that tastes like I licked the bottom of a dirty fish tank?!
I dunno about the sacred nectar part, but I don’t like cherries and coconut, which I think puts me in the minority.
I'm allergic to coconut and it's so sneaky! Often I only realize my throat is closing when my tongue discovers a freakin' shred stuck somewhere in my teeth!
😬
At Easter and Halloween, I would have a tub of Celebrations for kids and they could grab double if they went for Bounty (coconut wrapped in chocolate). I got few takers. Always the Bounty left in the bottom of the tub.
Cuz even kids know: when the eatin's over, nobody wants weird flavor remnants popping up again!
Pumpkin Spice (and the hate comments start...NOW)
I agree with you. I don't like pumpkin anything.
Whew
Chef's and cooks hate when I say this but: Onion. I don't hate the flavor but despise biting into a piece, chunk or hunk of it inside my food! One small piece releases a singular, sour funk that stays in the recesses of your mouth fermenting disgustingly! But I do use Onion powder religiously!
Lobster
😲It has so little flavor! The capital-Butter, garlic, parmesan or Old Bay are the real heroes!
It’s for other folks to enjoy 🤗🤗🤗
Coffee
cherry
