Yes it’s the next constituency on from mine , Lib dems were quite hopeful during canvassing but in the end they preferred the man who couldn’t lie straight in bed. Odious man

Well don’t lose hope. I think that the 2024 general election result will prove to be ephemeral. I live in France now and the traditional centre right has all but collapsed, I think that is where the Tories are headed. Things do change (but not always for the best obviously).

I moved to Paris in 2020 just before the Brexit barriers went up. I’m putting together my dossier to apply for French citizenship later this year. I’m so sad about what has happened in UK. France hasn’t always been easy but I love it and it’s my home now.

Good luck with your citizenship. I was one of those people who dreamed of retirement split between a holiday home in portugual & England, mainly due to watching places in the sun on stop. Maybe one day my daughter can enjoy that dream for me with whatever I have left to leave her .
