There’s no legal process for them to remain in the U.S. The way our immigration system works is they need to go back to country of origin and apply for asylum/citizenship. It’s a process that takes years. Read about Reagan’s Immigration Reform and Control Act (of 1986. That was pretty interesting.
That requires CONGRESS to stop playing politics with immigration and actually vote to CHANGE the LAW.
