What do you think Biden did that was trying to claw back?
What do you think Biden did that was trying to claw back?
Almost everything dude
What gave you the impression I was accusing him of anything of the sort? Was looking forward, not back, and hoping some future Dem admin would try to undo at least some of the damage Trump's done. Even if that also feeds into the cycle of wild policy swings, Trump's been so awful it'd be worth it.
I dunno you wrote this “each new administration's term just trying to claw back and tear down anything the previous guys actually did” not me. Maybe I’m misunderstanding your wording.
You conveniently left the second half of the sentence containing the words "is gonna," which is short for "is going to," which makes the sentence an obvious prediction for the future, not a description of the present or past.
Nah, you pretty much nailed it. If he meant something different then he should have written that, but you got what WAS written.
Are y'all allergic to context? The post he's replying to explicitly is talking about the future
Yep. Im the context of Incumbency DIsadvantage, it will be hard for *future* Presidents to be 2-termers, or even hold a Congressional Majority for long, so it will be hard to maintain policies and programs for more than a couple of years before a new Admin or Congress defunds and reverses it.
And especially with Trump having set the precedent of trying to explicitly undo every accomplishment of your predecessor, and so much of what he's done desperately needing to be undone by a future non-GOP admin, that's likely to solidify that tradition for the foreseeable future.
ending the rot economy, like click to cancel.
He did a bunch on antitrust, labor, consumer rights, climate, etc. First non neolibral since Ford. If things had kept going another 4, we'd remember him as a great president, but he failed at stopping Trump, and that's all that mattered ultimately.
those were his strengths but unfortunately and not entirely by his fault it was too little too late
Fuck yeah
that was a good thing and praise lina khan but trump didnt cause that problem
Huge investments in clean energy, infrastructure, manufacturing capacity. Making ACA subsidies more generous. Expanding access to medicaid. Fixed a ton of problems with how student loans are administered. More money for working overtime. Increased environmental protections. Consumer protection. Etc
Dude said that admins tear down the other. I was asking for examples of Biden doing that. Biden’s admin did a lot of progressive things I agree.
Trump has already torn down almost all of those positive things
Seems like *building* not *tearing down*
I think so too!
Although an awful lot of those are examples of things that the Trump Admin is now trying to claw back and undo. And they think they're justified in part because they think (mostly wrongly, sadly) that Biden undid all Trump's "progress" on slowing immigration and a few other things.
That’s what Biden built. The trump admin has already ended, and clawed back the majority of it
sorry - that's what i was referring to; apologies for not being clear
His FCC and trustbusting was a big deal.
I genuinely hate uninformed voters.
Okay.
