My favorite!!!!
My favorite!!!!
Nice. Lilac we used to eat them as kids. I dunno why. We just did. And my gardenia is blooming for the first time in 7 years. So fragrant. Springtime is the best.
Beautiful!!💐🌷🌹🌺🪷🪻
Looks wonderful !
My absolute favorite. Lilacs.
Love Lilacs!!
I love when our lilac Bushes around our porch are blooming!
My favourite
Glorious 🌺
What a beautiful sight. Lilacs are one of my favorite flowers and I agree, they smell divine.
My favourite lilac variety -‘Sensation’. I lost mine to building works some years ago. They are not easy to find where I live.
Lucky! I am forced to surreptitiously sniff at the neighbor’s trees while walking the dog. 😆
Can't believe there are this many comments and no mention of gooseberries.
I may be the only person on the planet whose lilacs never flower. It does make a nice hedge though. I suspect it may not get enough sun on the north side of the home.
Looks nice! I always plant pansies around this time of year, since they tend do to well in the swinging temperature changes. They smell so good. The lilac off our front porch hasn't bloomed quite yet.
Lucky you! And enjoy while I think it lol
So beautiful!Love lilacs and their fragrance! 👏☺️💜
My favorite spring aroma , so short lived though in the northeast .😊
True 😍
So pretty!!! I’m praying to no slugs, they decimated my Belladonna last year, it only got about 20 flowers on it when it usually gets double that. Also I’ve got some newly potted out cornflowers and monkshood,
I'm hunting down the slugs every year. Fortunately I almost always manage to yeet them out before any damage.
I did buy some nematodes last year, they infect slugs and they die naturally, I’m not sure I used enough though.
Wish we could have lilacs in our yard. They are in my top 10 favorite plants, but my mom is extremely allergic.
Beautiful neat garden 👍🏻
Such a lovely space to sit in.
Lovely I can almost smell them!
I can smell the scent

Lilac is my favorite spring scent. It is intoxicating!
NICE! Spring has sprung!
Absolutely
Beautiful
Mine are just starting to bloom.
Lovely💜
I moved to Arizona 4 years ago. I really miss seeing green things. Thanks for sharing. The nostalgia is a welcome relief from the desert landscape.
I rescued a lilac two years ago. It was just a dry stick in a bag. Paid two bucks for it. And this is what she looks like today 💙
Best scent in the world!!!
Our lilacs come out in late June. But I will be virtually enjoying everyone else's till then.
Looks so beautiful and peaceful. Thank you for sharing.
It is one of the most relaxing scents
The smell is intoxicating. I love it!
Ahhhhhh Lilacs in the Spring! When my family lived in Colorado, we had a 75-ft hedge of both purple and white hedge between us and our Western neighbor. I miss Lilacs and their wonderful smell too.
One of my favorite smells. My grandmother’s house had them on both sides and the wind wafting through would make the whole house smell amazing.
sweet
This is in my future. 💚
One of the world's best scents!
Looks gorgeous
Your home is beautiful 😍
I LOVE your planter garden!!! And Lilacs are my favorite!! Every year, on Mother’s Day, my daughter would trim some off of our lilac bush and put it in a vase for me when she’d make my Mother’s Day breakfast in bed!
We no longer live at the house with the lilac bush, but I’m hoping for Mother’s Day breakfast in bed, nonetheless!
This look beautiful! One day I wanna have a balcony with as much green as here :)
Pretty garden
Truly
Lilacs always smell like summer to me!
One of the things I really miss about Montana.
We suffer with jasmine blooming next to our lilacs...yahoo! Happy spring to your garden
So many roses! I only have a few blooming for now but more are on the way!

Lilacs are my favorite smell 😍🤤
That scent is amazing
❤️
I carried lilacs when I got married. May 15th. We actually scheduled the wedding to when they would be blooming!
I’m a May baby…Lilacs have always been my favorite.
I adore them - we have half a dozen just under our bathroom window - and at this time of year , especially when it rains and the lilac, petrichor and a few others are out and the mix is a heady and all consuming experience in the shower or bath.
Thank you, Jeremy Jenkins, for reminding us of what is real and beautiful in this world. I was transported! I love this fragrance as well!
STUNNING!!💕
My lilac is out…smell is incredible
Beautiful space!
Beautiful!
ITS OFFICIAL WE MUST BAN LILACS FROM ANYONE BELOW 21

Lovely stuff
I can smell that picture. 😍
I SO miss that!!!! I had several varieties in my yard in MA. They don’t grow in TX.
We have star jasmine in bloom!
They are beautiful ❤️
Isn’t it, just?💜
If one replaced the word 'lilac' with 'balls' in that sentence, it 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 wouldn't be as gay. [I kid! I kid! 🤗 Flowers are coming in great, btw.]
6 weeks ahead of Nova Scotia.
Ohhhhh I bet! Niiiiice
Mine just bloomed today!! It smells amazing!
You’re a lucky guy.
Mine haven't bloomed yet here in 6b. My plants are still under lights and I'm chomping at the bit to get in the dirt! Garden and flower beds are all ready to go in the ground next week! Patience isn't easy!
Do you grow lilacs in a pot?
Yes, I rent so I can’t plant anything in the ground unfortunately.
You inspired me to purchase lilacs today to grow in pots on my deck. Please send any tips.
Yes, please share tips as I didn’t know you could plant lilacs in pots?!
The things I miss most about the midwest is Lilacs and Sassafras trees.
Heaven. Enjoy!
My favorite
ok this setup is to die for
Beautiful!
Those are lovely! I especially like the pink one!
Thank you for this sensory memory post. I can smell Josephine's lilac bushes on my way home from school. (Well, that happened 60 or more years ago.) She was a widow and childless. Didn't want kids in her yard, but the lilacs hung over the stone wall, so I could get to them.
Peaceful maze…
Spring is a fragrant time of the year
It’s Jeff Buckley season.
Under the lilac tree was a favorite book of mine as a child lilacs are magic for me 🪻 I bet it's amazing there
Love the smell of lilacs and gardenias!! Those are beautiful
I've been looking for an affordable Lilac scent for years. Found one M&S Lilas. Now I can smell it outside of the 7 days of glory
Looks so sweet and cozy there ❤️
Gorgeous
It’s the best!
I grew up in a house with a long driveway that was a wall of lilacs down one side. Coming home from school in May and walking down it was an annual experience I’ll never forget. I truly didn’t realize what a unique privilege it was.
Amazing lilac, I’ve not seen white edged pink flowers.
It’s called lilac sensation 😄
Thanks! Aptly named.
Love lilac
That's lovely!
Just planted my first lilac since moving here, Sensation Lilac. And, heard our first hummingbird of the season.
Jealous!
Fabulous Garden ☘️
one of the best smells ever
If I may, what are you growing in the large grey container opposite?
It's a climbing rose (New dawn) forming an arch!
Thank you. I lost a large banana plant to frost over winter so I'm left with a large container. Sad to lose it, but now it's an opportunity!
I love the smell of lilacs. I agree! It is intoxicating.
My yard as well. Almost overwhelming.
We have a well-established tree (at least 40 years old) that also has an intoxicating scent.
It’s huge! Love it!
We love it too!
i love the smell of lilacs. they put me at ease
Oh lordy I've got lilac envy. One of my favourites. You must live somewhere a lot warmer than where I am.
I don't have a garden, just a yard, so it's great to see what you can do with pots! I have fewer this year - photo is a few years back.
Great little container courtyard. Well done.
Very jealous!
Love LILACS! 🥰 💕
Yum! Used to have a huge lilac bush at my childhood home. Had honeysuckle at a rental then jasmine at another. Just planted clematis, which my grandma grew, but I don’t think they have a scent. Just a great memory!
Lilac is my favorite smell. The city I grew up in is called The Lilac City.
Ah, the Lilac Parade…
Best time of the year!!
Always!
Looks lovely
Thanks for the picture. So pretty. I have to admire from a far. Allergic.
Oh yes, growing up on Long Island, we had them in the backyard. When we could open the windows I could smell them in my bedroom.
Oh, how I envy you your lilac.
I love that.
“like”
Here in Florida I truly miss all those gorgeous lilac bushes of my old northern neighborhood. Missing the peonies, hydrangeas and wild roses too.
It’s my most favorite scent. I think because we had a wall of lilac bushes on the side of our driveway growing up. I loved to just stop and bury my face in the flowers. I miss that!
I can almost smell them!
Lilacs always remind me of this: 'Now that lilacs are in bloom She has a bowl of lilacs in her room And twists one in her fingers while she talks. 'Ah, my friend, you do not know, you do not know What life is, you who hold it in your hands'; (Slowly twisting the lilac stalks)
'You let it flow from you, you let it flow, And youth is cruel, and has no remorse And smiles at situations which it cannot see.' I smile, of course, And go on drinking tea (Portrait of a Lady/T S Eliot
Beautiful 🤩
So pretty!
I know the feeling!

Mmmm, lilac. One of the things I miss about my parents' place. My mom had 2 huge lilacs in the front yard.
Gorgeous 😊
Your garden is lush and gorgeous. Where are you? In a little PNW microclimate, I'm at least two more weeks away from blooms.
I'm close to London. 😄
So now I'm jealous x 2
Lovely.
This pic made me take a deep breath
Love the smell of Lilacs in the spring.
Lilacs are waning here in Bourgogne, where it warms up relatively quickly in the spring. I see you're in the UK :-). They're my favourite flower, tied with roses.
I'm so jealous 🥺
The smell of lilacs is one of my absolute favorite scents in spring
I ruined the smell of lilacs for my family. A broken nose that was packed full of “stuff”, the medicine smell gives them flashbacks. That was 1981
Beautiful!
💜
Now that the lilacs are in bloom, you’ve got a pot of lilacs in your room
Best scent in Spring…
In the evening, when I open my back door, I always get a heady smell of jasmine. Delightful
❤️❤️❤️❤️ I love lilacs!!!!
i just bought i lilac bush, can't wait till it blooms👍
How wonderful
Love them!!!
Love that Sensation variety!
Dammit. Terry Pratchett was a month out 😢😂
I think it is my favorite scent! I grew up in Rochester NY which has a lilac festival every May and the scent takes me back home every time.
Omg heaven
Gorgeous
One of my very most favorite scents on this earth. 🥰

I’m sure it smells LOVELY…here you can smell the orange blossoms and that’s the deepest smell I can remember
