Anything over 24°C is too much for me, and we had days above 30 until the end of September every recent years… so I will not be fully happy before October is here.

I agree, but having yesterday arrived from a gross muggy 30-35° in Japan, to this cloudy, showery 17-20°c here, I feel like I have jumped from summer to winter in a day. And the long range forecast suggests it will be basically like this for the next month

You just missed the horror then. Since mid-June, we had between 26 and 35°C everyday with almost no rain. It has finally ended a few days ago!
