Just received a 5kg bag of ingredients from a big supplier. Best before date: 08/08/25. Ok.

It's bad enough when it's something like groceries, lunch meat, cheese or bread etc. But bulk ingredients? How big do they think your business is? haha
But I could fly over and assist in eating the chocolate by the 8th...
😫😩 That’s so unfair. Can you ask for a refund and another shipment with a later use by date? That is very cheeky.
I am trying. They just sent me a reply email with a badly written document attached saying that exceptionally, the shelf life is extended by 6 months on this product. Not suspicious at all.
Amazing, in fact, that a shelf life is 6 months more after a complaint 🤔🙄
You're either going to be busy, or ignoring that sell-by date. Good luck!
Well, I cannot sell chocolate bars that are out of date in two weeks. Not that I would manage to sell so many so fast anyway. They will have to refund!
So if it's not the post office being difficult, it's your suppliers! My admiration for you, being able to cope with all the stuff that's thrown at you every day, knows no bounds.
Every week I deal with a new level of incompetence. When you’re constantly trying to do things right, it’s hard not to wonder how these businesses are even surviving.
Better not waste any time posting about it. Sounds like you better get that stuff used up in a hurry.
It is not usable, I cannot sell 5kg of chocolate bars with a two weeks best before date.
I was kidding. I feel for you. It seems like a lot of the groceries (dairy, mainly) we've been getting lately goes bad even BEFORE it's use by date.
Best get started on that! 🤭
Time for exposé of this company’s practices. Yikes!!
You gotta call the supplier and send it back. . . That's just unprofessional.
Can they be divided up and frozen? What type of ingredients are they? Are you sending them back because they are idiots, or worse?
No but that would not help, it is for my chocolate business so there is no way I can sell anything that has such a short date…
That totally blows.
😳
Oh Lord, their quality control system needs to be checked!
Better get going on it 😬⏳
Are the products imported indirectly via the EU? Maybe they’ve been sat in a customs warehouse having been pre bought by the UK supplier months ago.
Yes, probably the case but it is a product that is supposed to have between 1 and 2 years of shelf life so I will insist for the refund.
Item clearly ‘not fit for purpose’ so hopefully you don’t have a problem with refund!
