What gets me is 80% of all crimes are committed by repeat offenders. That tells me the consequences are not severe enough. We have more per capita murder via firearms than every nation in Europe combined. Something is definitely a miss. Felon in possession of a firearm is a felony. Make it 20 years
Poverty and crime are strongly correlated in every country under any form of government you can name. Always has been. It’s young and middle age white males buying all these handguns. To them it’s a hobby. When they want a new toy, they dump their old guns cheap - they end up on the streets.
If it’s just poverty why were less per capita mass shootings, armed robbery’s less pervasive during the Great Depression when the poverty rate was much higher? Failed parenting. If you don’t know where your kids are and who they’re with, you failed as a parent.
Mass shootings aren’t poverty related, they’re hate related. Lumping them into crime statistics is nonsense.
It’s a crime. Murder is a crime no matter the reason.
The end result is the same. People are dead or severely injured. Murder if it’s for money via robbery or because of hate is still murder. Murder is murder regardless of the reason. Every murderer needs to get the hot shot after their appeals are exhausted. Expedite the appeal process in 30 days.

Ever wonder why staying school is hard to sell in the inner cities? Because of racism an education often made zero difference in job opportunities if your black. Georgetown university did a study with two students looking for summer work. Same outfits, same fake resumes, same everything …
I do remember that study. The Black applicant was as articulate as the white applicant It is a problem. I can say that in the military it was all about performance. It would appear that unless you hold professional credentials in STEM there’s a lot of politics involved in hiring and promotions.
In several businesses the black kid was told they aren’t hiring while the white kid was giving an application. The white kid got dozens of interviews and multiple job offers. The black kid got 3 interviews but zero job offers. So why bother with school when it makes zero difference.
